Electronic Clearing Service (ECS)

About the service:

  • It is an Electronic method of payment, introduced by the Reserve Bank of India, which provides you an option to pay your electricity bills directly through your bank account.

  • We issue payment instructions to the clearing authority which in turn supply the debit reports to the bank with which you maintain the specified bank account.

  • The branch debits your account and indicates the debit entry as “ECS” in your passbook / bank statement and the discount on ECS gets reflected in your subsequent month’s bill.

  • An acknowledgement is sent, within 3 days from the date of payment, via e-mail & SMS confirming the payment made.

Advantages of ECS:

  • It’s really convenient! No need to stand in queues or remember your bill due dates

  • It works your way! ou have the option to select an upper limit beyond which any debits would not happen from your bank account.

  • No need to worry. If in any month your electricity bill amount exceeds the set mandate, the bill amount will not be debited to your bank account. Instead, a message gets printed on our bill intimating you about the same. Also, an SMS is sent to your registered mobile number.

  • Earn attractive discounts. Earn a prompt payment discount of 1% in addition to a 0.5% ECS discount.

What you need to do to get avail this convenient mode of payment!!

  • Step 1:. Procure the ECS mandate form from various available sources.

  • Step 2: Just fill in the complete form accurately and get it duly certified by your bank.

  • Step 3: Submit one copy of the filled form to your bank and another at our Customer Care Centre

  • Step 4: Your account shall be registered for the ECS mode of payment and an acknowledgement confirming the same shall be sent to your registered e-mail id. Also, a physical copy of the acknowledgement shall be provided across the counter.

  • Step 5: Your bill payments via ECS shall commence from the subsequent billing cycle.
